feasiblity of omitting transition strip between two rooms

I installed 3/8" engineered wood flooring in a living/dining area and an adjoining hallway. The hallway has a door to a bathroom which has old vinyl sheet flooring that I plan to cover with vinyl plank flooring. Coincidentally, the vinyl plank that I want to use in the bathroom, if applied on top of the old vinyl, will result the the two floors being flush, or the exactly the same height. So, I am thinking about just butting the two floors together with no transition strip separating them. The joint between them would be under the bathroom door.

I'm just wondering whether I am overlooking any reasons I should not do this.

Mostly because it will look bad and the crack will catch dirt. Plus the door is open all the time so it's not like the seam will be invisible or hidden. The vinyl plank instructions likely call for a gap, which is what a transition helps to hide. Engineered wood needs a gap too but it may not be the same gap as the vinyl.

You would have two raw edges and thats just not going to work, a simple t molding is needed.

OK, I'll install a T-molding. Thanks for the comments.
