Vinyl Floor Covering Questions

Our master bath has vinyl floor covering. Due to an apparently poor glue job, a section of the vinyl where it meets the bath tub is curled up and creates a gap between the floor covering and the tub. I would like to attempt a repair.

Will the vinyl soften if I heat it with a heat gun?

What adhesive should I use? It will need to be in a caulking tube so I can squirt a fine bead into the crack to get it under the vinyl.

Do you have other suggestions? Thanks for your help.

Yes, it will soften with a heat gun. Just don't get it too hot. Almost any adhesive will hold down the edge. At a home center, you can get a small almost clear piece that look like a small cove base. It has a self-stick tab that will stick to the tub. It will keep moisture away from the edge of the vinyl, moisture is what probably made it curl. At the very least, put a thin line of silicone caulk where the vinyl meets the tub.
