I don’t want to use bullnose on the steps but….

My runs are close to 13”. Flooring company says they don’t make a tread with that deep of a run and that I will need to use the flooring planks and bullnose to do my stairs. Please tell me other options! The pre-made tread looks so nice. I am approximately 1/2” too deep for the pre-made tread . 😡
Thank you

You posted in the vinyl and linoleum forum, so I don't know what kind of floor you are talking about. I'm assuming it's a wood floor?

Don't know what your flooring material is but you could make your own treads from sheets of plywood/oak.

You could use a piece or 1/4-round at the back side of the tread to transition from the tread to the riser and cover that space.

Do you currently have a nosing that could be cut off?

Yes. The nose overhangs 3/4 of a inch. I was going to put a piece of 1x in there to use as the riser and to make it flush. (Will still be too deep for pre-made tread) Thoughts? They could also be cut flush but the current exposed riser is just ply.

current nose is just the edge of a 2x

Add a photo of the stairway if you can, and give us something to look at. I have one idea but would need to look at it first.

Looks like adding 3/4 to each riser would eliminate your nosing and make them all 12".

I thought the same thing but I called the flooring company again to double check. Their treads are 10.5” deep. I’m gonna be forced to have custom treads to stain or use flooring and bullnose I think.

Looks like your only reasonable option would be to remove all the treads and risers and make new stair jacks that have a standard tread size.

My concern would be how slick they will be with vinyl plank. Is this coming from and area where your feet.shoes might be wet?
