Install of vinyl over tile

To maintain your floor covering's manufacturer's warranties, you need to do some research re: installation procedures and whether or not you will pursue the vinyl product warranties. Vinyl can be installed over existing ceramic tile if the ceramic is in good shape. You will need to use a recommended patch product that will coat existing ceramic material to fill grout lines so that the substrate material will be super smooth. Your vinyl installation will be only as good as the substrate beneath. Any irregularities in the substrate will affect the installation and performance of your vinyl product. You should search archives and forum posts on this site for vinyl installation issues. Keep us posted on your progress.
