vinyl floor stain

I have a stain on the vinyl flooring in the kitchen that appears to be tomato sauce (or similar) that was present when we moved into the house. The floor covering is only about 3 years old and in excellent condition otherwise. Any ideas on stain removal (I have tried strippers, bleach etc). Thanks

Tomato sauce stain on vinyl floor

Vinyl tends to be absorbent and very susceptible to staining from chemical reactions. Stains absorbed through the wear layer on the vinyl tend to be impossible to remove.

Pour some 3% peroxide on the stain and sprinkle in some baking soda. Let set 30 minutes and rub with soft cloth. If you see that the stain is getting lighter, repeat.

Keeping vinyl floors sealed tend to protect the wear layer and prevent absorption of stains. Vinyl floor care products from the janitorial supply far exceed the quality of those sold in cleaning product aisles. If you do not have a janitorial supply in your area, Jeff Campbell http://www.thecleanteam.com sells professional products.
