Laminate/Vinyl Combo Suggestions

I am interested in putting a laminate (wood) down as a border around the vinyl in my kitchen. Has anyone ever heard of or seen an example of this?

Wood laminate border for vinyl floor

Follow manufacturer's installation instructions carefully. You will need to use recommended transitional pieces between laminate and vinyl.

Kitchen floor bubbling.

My sheet vinyl flooring, on a concrete slab, installed professionally 3 years ago, is starting to bubble. It appears to be happening in the area where the hot water pipes are buried in the floor (it gets warm there when someone is taking a shower). What is a good way to reglue it down? What kind of glue will work well? Should I slit the bubbles to get some glue under the vinyl? Use a syringe with a needle? Please help. The wife thinks we need a new floor.
