Install tile backsplash - outlet question

I am installing a ceramic tile backsplash in my kitchen, and have cut the tiles to fit around the 4 electrical outlets on the wall, so that the outlet covers will cover the edges of the tile. But now the outlets themselves are too far back in the wall, they don't come out even with the tile. Is there some sort of spacer you put on the outlets to make them stick out even with the new tile wall? How does that work?

Hi
The outlets were sitting flush with the wall before the tile...so you should have cut the tile so that the outlets sat flush on top of the tile. But since you have already done it the other way, just add some washers to the screws going into the box, to bring it out to the level of the ceramic. If the screws turn out to be too short, you'll have to replace them with longer ones.

Next time you get a foutain drink, save the straw. Cut it to the length you need and use it as a sleeve.
