ceramic tile

To install ceramic tile on my basement bathroom floor does the toliet need to be raised or is there a way around it? and how should I do it?

Hi
You can buy an extra wax ring, or a flange extension . Just tile around the flange and add the thickness you need with the wax or the extension.

removing caulk film from slate

was trying to caulk a piece of trim that adjoins the slate tiles on my fireplace and the caulk is silicone based. I thought I was getting it cleaned off after the application but next day it has left a shiny silicone coating where I wiped it off. What would you recommend for removal w/o damaging the tile? The slate is uneven on the surface so it is hard to simply rub off. Thanks,Read More
