mosaic my old bathtub ?

I HAVE THIS GOOD OLD CAST IRON (NOT CLAW FOOT ! ) TUB THAT WAS RE GLAZED AT ONE TIME. AT PRESENTS THE PAINT OR FINISH IS PEALING OFF. TO REPAINT IT BY A PRO IT WOULD BE ABOUT $400 WITH TAX INCLUDED.
THE SHAPE OF THE TUB IS CONVENTIONAL AND I WAS WONDERING IF IT COULD BE RE DONE USING MOSAIC TILE. I COULD DO THE WORK MYSELF.
ANY ADVICE WOULD BE APPRICIATED.

THANK YOU----------------------KOPOROKO

Hi
I think it would be more expensive to tile it than to have it re-finished..even if you tiled it yourself. Mosaic is not cheap..especially the really small stuff you would need to get around the coved corners. Plus the finish that is peeling on the tub now would have to be removed first, and then you'd have to find some super duper glue that would hold the tile on. Cheaper to get a new tub!
