cutting marble

I definitely use a wet saw to cut marble. Marble will come in different classifications termed Group A, Group B, Group C, and Group D. This classification has nothing to do with the quality of the marble but rather indicates the amount of fissures or natural faults contained in the stone. Group A marbles have the least amount of natural voids in them. These marbles will cut very easily on a wet saw without breaking. However, if you have one of the other marbles breaking becomes an issue. I have found that if I run the stone through the blade at varying pressure from both sides the stone is much less likely to break.
