Question walltile

When tiling a hallway using a wayneswall style,do I need a backerboard? There is paint on the exsisting walls as of now.The tile I want to use is porcelain.Please help!!!!!!!!!!!

Not on the walls, unless they are going to see lots of moisture. Use a good mastic to set them. Apply the mastic to the tiles, not the wall. This assures 100% transfer. It is slower, but the lasting results are greater.
