Hi
Sounds like tumbled marble. You will want the small holes to fill with grout. You should be able to grout it first and then seal everything after it is dry. But you may want to try grouting a spare peice first, to see how it cleans up, or if the color you use will stain the stone. If you find yourself having trouble, then put a coat of sealer first, and then another after the grouting is complete.

The choice is yours and technically it doesn't matter.

"Sealers Choice" by Aqua Mix is a great product and your stone will return to its original color when the sealer dries, I recommend it to my customers routinely.

I guess one should ask first what color grout you plan on using. The hard/dark colors WILL be a problem and WILL stain your stone if not sealed sufficiently first.
