Angry how do I remove ceramics??

Hello,
I recently bought a house and planned on removing the tiles
on the wall in the kitchen.
I tried removing one by chisling with a hammer and a screwdriver
but I seem to be damaging the dry wall (small holes).
I am breaking off small pieces when I do this.

Is there an easier way to do this??
It took me 10 minutes to remove just one tile 4"x6"
Any help would be appreciated

thanks in advance
Vatche

Yes there is an easier way.

Remove the wallboard with the tile. By making some surgical cuts in the drywall with a utility knife you can pull it all down in just a few pieces. Believe it or not this is sometimes the easiest way to do it.

Bummer huh?

Like Bud said, Remove it. A keyhole saw for sheetrock and a good hammer and safety glasses will make short work of the thing.
