Old Ceramic Tile Removal

I have Ceramic tile in our entry way that we dislike. Current floor is installed on 5/8 wood subfloor with approx 1" concrete/chickenwire and tile on top. Is it possible to remove just the tile without disturbing the concrete subbase?; then I could retile using thin-set mortar? Will the subbase be level enough for the new tile.
Your assistance/expetise is appreciated

Depends alot on what it was put down with in the first place.Try a area out of the way.Once you get started you might be able to slide under it and pry. (or pray)
