can Roto Zip cut tile

As the subject states is it possible to use a spin saw (Roto Zip type) to cut glazed ceramic tile the description say's that it can but thought I'd check with experienced poeple on this matter.

Thanks for your help

I've successfully used a Rotozip with a carbide bit to cut wall tile (e.g., for openings for a shower head, tub faucet, valve, soap dish). The $10 bit breaks fairly easily if you push it too hard or allow it to overheat.

However the cutting is pretty slow and it's not easy to make a very straight cut. So I would only use it on curved cuts and holes that are not easy to do with a tile snapper or a wet saw.

I don't think I would even attempt it for floor tile.

rotozip and ceramict

I tried using a roto zip with 4 inch tiles, what a mess. I bought a tile cutter to use. The one where you score it and then snap it. Made life alot easier
