Can I start tiling my counter top

I removed the fermica off this counter top.

Do I still need cement backerboard.

Or can I start tiling?

NEED?? I would install a 1/4" backerboard.

yes,the reason being now that you tore that formica off the wood is knda rough and this will level the playing field and make everything a little easier and and last a little longer

I always suggest waterproofing countertops so find yourself a waterproof sheet or paint on membrane...

how to remove tile backsplash

Recently purchased a home with tile counter top and backsplash. I would like to know the best way to remove the tile from the wall (backsplash) without damaging the drywall. Laying ceramic on top of peel and stick tiles

I have a townhouse with a entrance way thats 11x6 feet. The flooring is currently peel and stick tiles. The peel and stick tiles are stuck on to the concrete flooring. These tiles are in perfect shape and stuck on VERY well. I was wondering if I should try to remove them and fight all of the adhesive glue or should I simply sand the tiles to make them rough and then tile right on top of them. Can someone help?
