size of ceramic tile

I plan on going over 6" ceramic tile that I put down 18 years ago. There are a few spots where I have a crack in the tile but nothing is loose. I have 2, 3/4" inch plywood subfloors and none of the tile are loose. I wanted to use 20" tile but some people are telling me that they are more susceptible to cracking out. I'm thinking if I use a good thinset that it shouldn't make any difference. Any suggestions? Thanks.

if these are just random cracks in the tile and not running all the down the length then you should be ok.Any good latex modified thin set should do the trick make sure though the tile are free and clean of any grease, wax ,or build up of any kind to ensure a good bond, also use a 1/2" notch trowel when setting these bigger tile
