Ceramic tile floor underlayment

I want to install 12" ceramic tile in a bathroom. I have partical board flooring covered with linoleum. There is some water damage around the toilet from a prior overflow. Do I need to rip the flooring before installing the tile? What is the proper way to fix the situation?

I am a novice.

Depending on joist spacing ect , you should remove the linoleum and install either another layer of ply wood ,and/ or backer board.Do not set tile to partical board!!

I have a cement front porch with brick as a exterior trim. When the front porch was poured, they spilled the cement all over the top of the brick and it looks terrible on the top. I want to lay a tile over the top of the porch and the brick steps leading up to the deck. Should I prepare the cement in any way to make the tile adhesive cling to it?Read More
