Angry newly laid tile appears hazy

My glazed porcelain tile floor was laid about 4 days ago, and the tile itself seems to have lost its shine. It's like it has a haze or film over it. How can I clean it off and get its shine back?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Normally a good mopping will take care of this haze. You might have to buff it with a dry towel after the mopping.

Try a solution of white vinegar mixed half and half with water. Rinse it well.

The vinegar is working like a charm! Thank you! I'm back to my mopping now

Good. The vinegar is a mild acid and should not be used as a routine cleaner. It's a one-time deal, okay?

Got it! What are your recommendations for routine cleaning? This is the first ceramic tile floor I've owned, and I don't want to mess it up.

Angry Newly laid grout appears hazy

I, too, am plagued by the same problem on a new tile job. We just finished grouting our kitchen today and I'm finding that the tile is, indeed, hazy. Buffing with a dry cloth does not remove all the haze.

I am waiting 2 days to be able to seal my grout per my sealer's instructions. Can someone tell me when I can use the half vinegar/half water solution to remove the haze? Should I wait until after I seal the grout and, if so, how soon after the sealing will I be able to use the solution?

Regards,
Pamela

Pamela,
I ussed the vinegar/water before I sealed. I waited a couple of days, then cleaned, then let everything dry thoroughly, then sealed. I hope this helps. Good luck!
