Leveling Concrete Floor for Tile

Hello, I am about to put ceramic tile on the concrete slab floor in my basement. My question is, do I need to do anything to it prior to setting the tile? The floor is slightly sloped around the floor drain areas, and I assume that I want to keep it this way. Otherwise, the floor is pretty level. Do I really need to apply a leveling agent? I know it is just all going to run toward the floor drains. Also, is there some kind of primer I need to apply to the slab floor before I apply the mortar? Or some vapor barrier? Thanks in advance.

I'd keep the slope. Mortar right over the concrete as long as its clean and free of paint or adhesive from other flooring
