Removing Several Floor Tiles

I need to remove about 14 ceramic floor tiles in my kitchen that I laid about 2 years ago. I think these tiles are cracking because I didn't tape the seams on the Hardi backer. The tiles are cracking right along the seam lines. Would I be kidding myself by trying to get these 14 tiles up, Clearing out the Mortar, tapeing the seams and replacing the tiles.
I would really hate to have to redo the whole kitchen. Or might that just be easier.

TIA
T.C.

Remove the grout around the tiles you need to remove with a grout saw. Break out the tiles. If you pry on the edge of the other tiles they can chip. I have gone as far as drilling holes in the bad tiles to avoid damaging other tiles. The hole gives you a safe lace to start a fracture to get the tile free. Wear eye protection. Tile chips can be very sharp.
