Is it just a film? How thick is it?

Jdasewell, don't edit your post. Post another reply so things don't get confusing. Posting another reply will also keep your thread at the top of the list, so people won't miss it.

If it is shiny scrape off the thick spots with something dull and use fine steel wool on the thinner areas. Don't use too much pressure, you're cleaning not sanding.

Dried tile grout removal

Muratic acid is used in bricklaying to loosen (clean) excess mortar from the face (wall). It should work OK on excess grout --- should not hurt shinny tile; BUT, to be prudent, test whatever you use on area of less direct view.

TIP: Avoid using abrasive cleaners like Comet, Dutch Cleanser and steel wool on shinny tile and porcelean fixtures --- it might not be highly perceptible to the unaware person, but abrasive cleaner will degrade the slick surface, making it more receptive to dirt/scum.

OLD JOKE: There once was a chemist who discovered a chemical that would desolve absolutely anything --- problem was that he could not find a container to keep it in.

I am having this same problem. It has been only 24 hours since I applied the grout. The grout is the sanded type and the tile is textured. Can I use the sulfamic to remove the grout so soon after applying the grout?
