Question installing ceramic tile over existing ceramic tile

The existing ceramic tile in my bathroom was installed with cement, however there are no boards between tile and floor boards so the cement 'wrapped' into the floor boards making removal of tile impossible without cutting the boards. Can tile be installed over tile???? If so, is there is a special technique??

If the tile is well secured and there are no hollow sounding areas it can be done. If it is a glossy tile you are covering, scarrify the surface with an angle grinder. And use thinset, not glue.

Use a high flex modified thin set. You can get Flex Bond at Home Depot.
