Question New at this stuff... & need a new kitchen floor!!

I had my home built 8 yrs. ago, and dumb dumb me, bought a house that is on a slab. Sooo n e wayz... I need to re-do the kitchen floor and right now there is rolled linoleum on the floor. If I rip up the old stuff, do I need to put something over the hard concrete before starting with laying down the tile...?? Are there any good videos on "how to for tile flooring"? Next question, are there any benefits to laying linoleum squares over the old floor, vs. going w/ceramic tile?

Scrape the floor clean and use a roll on isolation mambrane then tile away. New lino will do nothing for the value of your home, now ceramic tile will.
