we recently moved into our new home, which was built in 2001. There are several rooms with ceramic tile floors. I've noticed that in all of the tiled rooms, there is a discoloration in the grout lines, particularly in the traffic areas. I noticed this as the grout closest to the wall base boards is quite a bit lighter in color. This leads me to believe that the grout lines were either not sealed, or not sealed properly when the house was built. So now I'm wondering what to do about it. My ignorant, novice mind says get a small wire brush wheel, attach to a drill and go over the grout lines, then seal. However, I'm a little nervous about doing any damage to the tiles, as they are in great shape. What do you think? Thanks, -Bill

I just started the process of removing vinyl tiles from my wood plank floor (previous owners threw this flooring on to "make it look better"). Needless to say, I wish they would have left it alone. Does anyone know of an easier way of removing besides the back breaking, slow paced, one by one, with a scraper and hammer, way? Would much appreciate any help I can get.
