Question Rough Grout on New Shower Tile Wall

We installed new tile on our shower wall's about a week ago and some of the grout lines have rough spots (it's not smooth and has some small pits).

I haven't applied a grout sealer yet. I'm worried about mildew on the rough spots. What should I do to smooth them out? Can I grout over to fill the rough spots?

Thanks. -Steve

As long as the grout is properly sealed & maintained, shouldn't have a mildew problem.

Not sure what you mean by "rough spots" so I'll guess. Some times your thinset or mastic oozes up between your tiles and when you grout it creates a "rough spot". If this is the case, a sharp razor from a utility knife can cut these areas out. Then re-grout these areas. As far as mildew I agree with Dell, they will be fine with sealing and maintaining. If the area's are noticably unsightly, I would cut & grout.
