Question ceramic tile floor

OK- I was able to get the old 1" tiles free from the old floor- Looks like there is concrete or some other kind of backerboard underneath. Can I install new tiles directly on concrete?? It's a slab floor

As long as the base is free of cracks and in decent condition, yeah you can probably come back over it with the new tile. What are you putting down & where? What was the reasoning for takin up the 1" tile, height issue?

I'd liek to put down 8x8 ceramic tile- It's in a half bath- very small area. I am redoing it because the bath was redone over (new toilet, vanity, paint) and the old owners never redid the floor and it just looks bad.
