installing ceramic tile over existing ceramic tile

Is it ok to install ceramic tile over existing ceramic tile? I just found out that under the 1'x1' vinyl tiles in my bathroom that are on my floor there is are exsisting ceramic tiles that are the tiny ones (maybe 1"x1") Will it be ok to install 1'x1' ceramic tiles over that. Also is it absolutely necessary to remove the commode and install tile underneath and what about a pedestal sink?

You can install tile over tile, but not tile over tile over tile.

It will be MUCH easier to remove the sink and commode than to try to cut around them. With the new metal braided flex supply lines it will be a piece of cake.
