Smile Remove grout in an existing floor

I am going to be removing the existing grout in our bathroom. Is there a particular tool that I should use?

Once it is removed, is there any special preparation I should do before putting the new grout down?

Thanks

if this is unsanded grout then you just use a grout saw to remove the grout. If this is sanded grout then you may want use something like a dremel or something that oscillates to remove the grout. If you opt for the electric ones then use safety glasses and dust mask. Also if the grout is a different color than what was in there then make sure you get all the grout off the edges so you wont see the old grout .Nothing else except to go down at least half way into the joint
