Lightbulb Tiling Whirlpool Deck

Hi,

In my bathroom we are having our deck mounted whirlpool tub tiled with ceramic tile and want to know around the top of the framed deck where the tub meets the deck, if it is better to let the tub sit on tile or let the tub sit on the framed deck and tile right up to the tub?? Please let me know.

Thanks,

greenda4

The tub should rest on top of the deck and then run your tile up to it. I'd also recommend caulking the line between the tile & tub instead of grout, same thing as well with all of the 90 degree corners in the tile job. Good luck.

We always tile our decks using durock and thinset and then set the tub on top the tile then caulk

Thanks for the info. We set the Tub on the deck and tiled up to it. We used thinset to set the tiles.

Thanks again!
