anyone know a way to finish the edges of travertine tiles? i'm doing tiles part way up my bathroom wall and the edges will be exposed -- however, they look unfinished. someone at my local hardware store said that kits exist for polishing the edges of these tiles, perhaps at home depot. has anyone heard of such kits?

I recently purchased a 1910 home with many wonderful original fixtures. The problem is that the original tile floor was messed up by the previous owners. They replaced the tub in the corner and covered the corner with cement. This is about 1/4 to 1/3 of the floor. The corner is not level. In addition the tub may need to be removed due to rust, it is porcelian. The remaining tiles are mostly good. Question. Can the corner be repaired? Is it worth trying to save the historic tiles? We cannot afford to find historic replacements. Do we have to rip up the whole floor to put in a new one?
