grout discoloration

HI,
I installed ceramic tiles in my kitchen about a week ago. Now I see some discoloration (turning grey) of the grout in some areas. How can I fix this problem? Can I use paint to cover the discolored ares. Also, can I use sealer over paint?

Thank you for your time.

Dan

What this is called is efflorressence, what happened is that either there was too much water ised to mix the grout or there was too much water used when cleaning the grout up.What this means is that hte pigment (color) was removed from the grout when cleaning or was diluted to the point of uselessness when mixing the grout.

What you can do is mix a little more of the grout and go over the areas affected and see if it takes, do not try to paint the joints if that doesn't work then try some grout stain you can get that at any tile shop and go that route then worry about sealing the grout after all that
