Add decorative tiles to existing tile counter

I know you can replace broken tiles fairly easily. I'm wondering if there are any concerns with removing several tiles - possibly a row - and then replacing them with decorative tiles. Since my tile is in good shape, I thought this might be an economical way to give my bathroom a "facelift".

Does this sound fairly simple? Or is it complicated?

Thanks for the forum!

Trying to chisel out some tile around the others may be a little more harmful than what it would be worth you may loosen or break the other tile around the ones you are trying to take out and open a can of worms that you do not want to open

If you remove the grout completely around the tiles you want to remove, the tiles will come out without disturbing the surrounding tiles.

Trying to do it without removing the grout, causes stress to the surrounding tiles, via the grout, and it could crack or loosen them.
