gloss gone from ceramic tile
I used one of those daily shower cleaners - it has taken the gloss off my ceramic tile. Is there anything I can do?

Those tile cleaners have lots of acid in them, but I've never heard of them actually etching the glaze off the tile.
I'm not sure if I should even mention this, but at one job I was at, I noticed that the shower in the house was at least 30 years old and was in perfect condition...almost like new. I asked the lady if it was ever used and she said every day. Then she told me her secret. Twice a year she used car wax on everything..tile, tub, shower door frame. The water just beads up on the surface.
Now I've never tried it, but it may just bring back the gloss on your tile. Try a test area and see what happens. Then let us know.

Daily shower cleaners contain surfactants to help clean and prevent soap scum and hard water deposits and to aid water in sheeting off shower surfaces. Some products contain builders or chelates, and alcohol or solvents to assist in the continual cleaning process. Some also contain antimicrobial agents to kill germs, including mold and mildew. All the daily shower cleaners contain fragrance. Daily shower cleaners are safe to use on many shower and tub surfaces. Some are not safe for marble and some plastics. Always read product label.
Perhaps the cleaner you have been using has left a residue on your tiles. Wipe tiles with white vinegar and sponge to see if you can remove residue and restore shine. Call the customer service number on the product you have been using to report your problem.
