Help Appreciated For Marble Tile Installation Technique

My dad and I are planning to install the entry floor with marble tile. My dad was a contruction worker a few years ago but he had not worked on installing the tile especially marble tile. So we really appreciate your help.

Please take your time to answer some of our questions:

1) If the floor is a concrete cement with pretty even surface, do we need any backerboard?

2) Should we use mastic or mortar?

3) Can a typical $800 wet saw cut 3/4 inch thick marble easilly or we need a more powerful one?

4) Can the wet saw cut a curve? How hard is it to do it?

Thank you so much for your time.

1) no backerboard necessary

2) Thinset mortar

3) my $80.00 wet saw cuts it just fine

4) to cut a curve with a tile saw you need to draw your curve and make control cuts up to the curved line and then slowly cut along the line.
