tile on tile

i have ceramic tile on cement, it is just an office in the garage, so I want to retile on top. should I put down some kind of underlayment or just tile right on top of the old. please help with my first step in this process. thanx!

You can tile over the top. I usually rough up the surface with a sander first. Besure to buy the thinset made to bond well on the tile. Usually the more expensive one. Read the bag, it should say.

You can put new tile over old but the old cannot be loose or have any cracks and the grout cannot have cracks. Check the swing on any doors so you know ahead of time if they need to be trimmed because of the new floor height.
