Removed Glued down Wood - Want to Replace with Ceramic Tile

We have removed our glued down wood flooring in the kitchen and want to replace it with ceramic tile. We have all the wood planks up, but the glue they used for the wood floor is still down and its very tacky. Can we go ahead and tile right over it - or do we need to remove all the 'tacky glue' before tiling? If we do need to remove it, can you give me an idea of how to do that?

Was this wood installed over an underlayment or direct to the subfloor. If over an underlayment, how thick is the underlayment and is there anything under the underlayment besides subfloor?

Get out your handy 4" wide razor scraper, strap on your knee pads, and take 3 200mg ADVIL, gloves are optional, if you feel daring.

Buy a pack or 2 of scraper replacement blades and have fun.

Scrape that bad boy down to bare concrete. Bead blasting is another option.

A six pack of Bud will do if th Advil is not on hand.
Let us know if there are any cracks in the cement floor after you get it cleaned up, they could present a problem but one we can most likely overcome.
