Question vinyl over tile

i'm entirely new to this stuff... and have been spending the last 3 hrs trying to figure out how/what i can do with the bathroom floor of the house i'm moving into.

it's a post wwII house in austria with ceramic tiles on the bathroom (little tiny tiles from what i can tell) and they are horrible to look at, although it seems to be a quality job done at the time.

i thought i'd go with vinyl floors for the $$ and ease of installation, but i'm getting mixed messages from different sources on the internet.

can i install vinyl sheet flooring over these little tiles w/out compromising the quality of the job?

lowe's website says yes... and it's inexpensive and relatively easy.

other sites say no, bad, won't adhere properly, tiles will show through etc.

any recommendations on how to improve the look of the floor will be greatly appreciated.

I agree with the NO crowd. Have Lowes explain how they can make something happen that no one else can. As you said, you could physically lay a sheet of lino over the tile but the question for Lowes is will it look good and for how long.
