Ceramic or Porcelain

I am planning to install tiles in my house (entry foyer). The area is 8 ' X 5 ', and has carpet on now...
I could select either Ceramic or Porcelain for the tiles...
Considering the area having heavy traffic..which one is better ?

Also, I would certainly go with a backetboard (probably 1/4 ").Would that be OK ?

Either one will do ok but the porcelain is better at standing up to abnormal abuse without showing wear and tear.
1/4" cement board will be fine for the top layer on which to cement in your tiles if it is a wood subfloor, but what will be under it? Vinyl, luan and hardwood are no-no's and you need minimums of plywood for floor stability. Also, the floor joists need to be strong enough to support the weight. What is the size and spacing of the joists and what is the length of the unsupported span? Need more info to be of further help
