bad grout-need help
I did my first tile job last year in our living room, after following all of the directions of the grout manufacturer, I began applying the grout. I soon noticed that the grout was drying too fast. Before I could get all of the grout off of the tiles(rough textured ceramic)the grout had dried. I tried every grout and tile cleaner I could find but couldn't get the grout off. I had to use phosfuric acid, and alot of scrubbing to get all of the grout off.
Now, a year later the grout looks like somebody "painted over it", and the paint is chipping off.The color must be coming out of the grout. I thought about skim coating it with new grout, but I am worried about it adhereing to the old grout, I thought about painting it, but with what, I don't know.
Can someone help please. ????

Try a grout stain. Can be had at many tile stores or try www.groutdye.com They can match the grout colors made several of the major manufacturers.
