Question ceramic tile over ceramic tile richie

I am doing a bathroom remodel, I had a small custom cabinet in a corner I removed. After removing it I found the tile was not under the cabinet. Since th e floor tile is about 20 yrs old and is the 1"x1" mixed color sheet type I don't think I can find any. I was told I could go right over the existing tile with new ceramic tile, the floor and existing tile are solid and there are no weak points. I think it may be easier to just retile, its only about 60 sq. ft. Can this be done and any suggestions on how. thanks

As long as there are no cracked tile or loose grout, then clean the old tile of any soap scum, hair spray lacquer, dust, etc. Use a modified thinset for the new tile. You may need to replace the door saddle if the new floor height presents a problem there.
