Ending ceramic tile on edge of step

I am getting ready to install 16" ceramic tiles in my kitchen. One end of the kitchen opens up to a step down into my family room. It is a 6' opening. This step up to the kitchen will be used frequently. How can I finish the tile at the edge and not have to worry about it chipping or cracking eventually? Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance... Andrew

If the tile has a matching bullnose, you can use that or one of these.

My Home Depot actually has those step treads in stock. It's like a miracle!

The tile My Wife picked didn't have a bullnose available but these look like a great alternative. Thanks for the great idea... Andrew
