cutting mex tile on floor

Need to remove a portion of the tile on my floor, making a larger area for carpet installation and of course eliminating some of the tile. Need to cut a relatively straight line accross the tile. Don't like the idea of chipping out with chisle or jack-hammer. Suggestions from the experts please. Thanks, David

Do you need to cut a line through the middle of the tile or can you stop at a grout line?

If through the middle, an angle grinder with a drycut diamond blade will do it, if stopping at a grout line, remove the grout from between the old and new, before chipping the old out.
