Removing Wall Tile Question
Any suggestions how to remove tile from existing sheetrock wall? I was thinking just a hammer and chisel but I'd like to advoid destroying the wall underneath. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Depending on how well the tile are adhered to the wall it might be quicker and easier to do as you said then remove the old wallboard and replace it. If it is in a shower or tub surround you want 1/2" cement up on the wall anyway with a 4 mil thick plastic drop cloth behind it to protect the studs from moisture.
If the tile feel like they might come off easy try a 4" spackle blade and tap it in behind the tile with a hammer. Get it back as far as you can and try to pry off the tile. For a large area this would be too time consuming, better to take it all down to the studs.
