Ceramic floor tile question

I'm installing 12" ceramic floor tile in a bathroom. How much space should I leave on the outside edge between the tile and the wall, and do you put grout in that gap or caulk? I'm thinking caulk because of expansion and contraction, but I wanted some confirmation from somebody who knows for sure. Thanks

What is going on the wall?

1/8" gap is fine and Caulk it or leave it open if you plan on wood molding, I like to caulk it anyway, keeps dirt and critters out.
