Can 12 X 12 or 13 X 13 floor tiles be used as tile for a tub surround and countertop? If so, what could be used to finish the edges if there are no trim pieces available?

We have done several bathrooms using large tiles - and it turns out beautifully. Some manufacturers are beginning to make trim pieces for larger tiles, but they're hard to find and choices are limited. If you go with a regular tile, the edges can be finished with Schlueder strips - available in different styles at most tile stores. Another choice would be to go with a porcelain tile. Porcelain is the same all the way through, so when a piece is cut, no trim pieces are needed. Another consideration would be decorative trim pieces which come in a huge variety of shapes, colors, and designs. Good luck!
