Removed Tile Floor - Cleaning up Mess...
#1

What is the easiest process to get up this mess? Right now I'm using a chisel to get all the cement off the floor. Any other ways I may be missing? I'm going to put down a vinyl floor, and I know the subfloor must be as smooth as possible. YIKES....this is going to take a while.

Try a floor scraper that is designed for the job. Typically a big box store will have these also, maybe even in tool rental.

Yes.
Wood or concrete floor?
If wood easier to remove the wood it's on or pour a SLC over it all, or install an underlayment over it once you get it down to the residue.
For concrete, use the pour on leveler.
