Tile Layout for Kitchen Wall

Can anyone direct me to a good article or advise on a tile backsplash( about 3-4 rows) for a kitchen wall?...particularly how to layout the markings on the wall and whether it can be done over regular sheetrock and recommened tile types.

Thanks.

Any type you want and yes, it can be installed over the drywall, materials needed all depend on type of tile and size of tile you pick.

Depends on size of tile and any decos and trim, but you always start on the countertop and have all your cuts at the top, leave a 1/8" gap at the top and caulk that joint.
