staggered tile as compared to straight line

Can you tell me if the grout line being staggered as compared to a straight line for tiles on a kitchen floor give you a little more forgiveness on your straight line layout?
Is there a visual benefit to staggering the tile?

If you are drunk while setting the tile at least it is one less grout line to keep straight. Actually it can give visual interest to a floor, especially one where the tile are a little busy. It will make the tile stand out more in my opinion. The pattern is called running bond and is also known as the brick pattern. Depending on the room layout it may increase or decrease the amount of waste tile you throw out.
