Tile over Tile
Is it advisable or even possible to install ceramic tile over ceramic tile? I have gutted a bathroom in a basement, concrete floor, to the floor and the existing is ugly as hell 1960's mosaic. Started to try and break it up, but it isnt coming off easy...was thinking of using cement to even out the damage ive done and tiling over it. Any suggestions or opinions will be appreciated.
Thanx

How about renting an electric chipping hammer with a 2" spade on it to lift those tile. If that doesnt work but they are down SOLID, with no cracks running through the floor then you could go over it

Go forth with a vengeance and kick some butt too.
That chipping hammer will have the floor clean before lunch.
They rent a Hilti at HD for about $50/day. And thinset will cover any gouges in the slab.
